The 2nd Annual Forget-Me-Not Charity Pickleball Tournament was a tremendous success thanks to the incredible energy, generosity, and heart of our players, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Together, our community raised an outstanding $21,131.04 for the BC Dementia Care Society...almost double last year’s total! Beyond the matches, we took time to honour loved ones affected by dementia and helped reduce stigma through connection, awareness, and shared purpose.
With 305 registered players, visitors from across Canada, Washington, and even Hong Kong, and 474 matches played in just 2½ days, this year’s event was bigger, busier, and more vibrant than ever. None of it would have been possible without our dedicated volunteers, including Tournament Director Leah Gordon, the Tournament Crew, referees, the 66 volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and the support of our incredible facility, Victoria Pickleball Centre. Their commitment kept the weekend running smoothly and made every participant feel welcome and supported. We are also deeply grateful to our generous sponsors, whose support ensured the tournament remained affordable, well-run, and deeply meaningful.
This year’s fundraising will directly support the expansion of vital dementia programs in 2026, including new Memory Café locations, We CARE Connection caregiver groups, Brain Health “FUN”damentals workshops, Dementia Insight simulation training, the Lived Experience Advisory Board, and continued growth of our regional resource directories.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this year’s tournament unforgettable—you are helping create dementia-friendly communities across the province.
